"heroics" is the latest piece by British artist Fiona Wright. Trained in visual and performing arts, Fiona has, since 1990, created a series of primarily solo pieces. Her previous work "Jonah Touching Jonah" has toured in Britain, Austria and Scandinavia to critical acclaim.

"heroics" is both choreographed and performed by Wright and invoves a collaboration with Newcastle based sound composer Ben Ponton (:zoviet*france). The work looks at the idea of hero's and the heroics of the people who wait for them, the project has a focus on movement research and consideration of the body and space as a site. It highlights new forms of artist / audience interaction within the artistic process.

"heroics" premiered at the Pandora Festival of Die Theater Wien, Austria on the 21st - 22nd Febuary 1997 to superb acclaim. The British premiere was held on March 7th 1997 at the Arnolfini, Bristol and again a large audience was treated to a fantastic performance.
