Connectivity (1) |
Connectivity- the new thinking emerging in society today around the concept and practice of connectivity. New scientific theories of chaos and complexity have blurred the distinctions between the art, sciences and humanities. The dynamics of complex systems and the self organising principles at work in this, made possible by digitization and perceptible in processes and practices of all kinds, suggest new ways of thinking and being for the future for interdisciplinary live art works. E.g. innovative points of connection between artist/audience, differing artform practices, new interactive processes, artistic and social concerns. Presentation Formats- an exploration of new presentation modes and viewing environments for interdisciplinary work. In particular the the transformation of current modes of live presentation to fulfill audience expectations of the 'live' event and the creation of differing environments and ecologies beyond the arts centre/theatre space.E.g. time-based installation work, sense aware ecologies, multi-choice environments, live online broadcasts, new by-product formats The Creator/User Relationship- an exploration of the hugely changing interface between artist/audience and the re-focussing of performance presence beyond the 'artist on stage'. Younger generations of audience are developing a whole new set of needs and expectations when it comes to arts activities. Is the end user the starting point?E.g. the choice to participate as well as to spectate, the opportunity to use a range of environments in ways that uniquely suit them and to be creators themselves, saturation and immersion, the re-definition of the line of responsibility between the artist and the audience. New Processes for Artistic Creation- taking into consideration the above change flows and the fast development of new interactive technologies, how will live performance develop its creation methodologies to advance human to human experiences?E.g.How to reach the true essense of live presence, interaction with new technologies alongside live presense, improvisation, the creative artist/technician, group devising, non-authorship/copywrite, holistic production, skills input into society. |
