Butterfly Effect Network, shinkansens' network for movement artist's, was formed in 1992 and is a pan-European partnership involving five companies in five countries, shinkansen (Britain), Forum Danca (Portugal), Panoptikon / Exodus (Slovenia), Vienna ACTS / die theater Wien (Austria) and Stuc / Klapstuk (Belgium). The network currently supports 80 artists and as with all our network's the primary intention is to provide employment opportunities as well as idea / skills exchange between members. B.E.N. is particulary well known for its development of process workshops and socio-cultural debates on a European level. The main event for B.E.N. is the annual European Choreographic Forum (E.C.F.), two weeks of intensive debate and practical training, now in it's sixth year at Dartington International Summer School, Devon.
