An innovative project designed to help extend the understanding of young people’s needs for the future world of work. It envisions the skill-sets, aptitudes, resources and methodologies that will be required by today’s young people at work in 2020 onwards, given that many of the jobs they will do have not yet been invented.
Bringing together a diverse group of experts and specialists to research, discuss and debate, Robots and Avatars explores how young people will work and play with new representational forms of themselves and others in virtual and physical life in the next 10-15 years. It examines multi-identity evolutions of today’s younger generations within the context of a world in which virtual and physical spaces are increasingly blended.
A participatory web and events led programme is taking place in the UK and internationally with connected educational activities is taking place across 2010 and onwards, with key partners body>data>space and NESTA.
