body>data>space is very excited to submit 1 talk, 1 workshop and 1 showcase to Digital Shoreditch 2013, on the themes of telepresence, avatars, future representation and collaboration.

We now ask you to VOTE for one or all these sessions, if you want to get inspired by body>data>space visionary experience!

Some questions we will answer: What are the collaboration challenges for professional communication and collaboration within virtual and connected environments? How do we choose to represent ourselves, interact and behave in virtual world and which impact does it have on our identity? How can we learn from next generations on dealing with multiple physical/virtual identities? How to weave the living, breathing, emotional body in digital interaction?

Collaborations through Telepresence / A talk by  Ghislaine Boddington

An update on the fast evolving world of telepresence and its usage in collaboration, co-creation and collective activities. Amongst others medical, educational and artistic usages are emerging fast through connected screens, virtual platforms, motion capture and telepresence robotics. Using examples from several projects produced by body>data>space and other topical work and play scenarios, the talk will overview the present and vision future potentials. VOTE here.

Telepresence and Avatars: Re-boot your identity / Workshop by Leanne Hammacott and bds team

During this creative-thinking workshop we will collectively explore issues of identity, communication and team work for the 21st century through immersive telepresence and virtual environments. Imagine a future unbound by the two dimensional head and shoulders of today’s video communication, into a world of full bodied haptic feedback, 3d immersive spaces and interaction mediated communication.
